COCOONWed Apr 9 2025

Your quiet place to grow.

Cocoon is a portable, soundproof workspace designed for people who need peace in the middle of chaos—especially working moms or multitaskers with no dedicated workspace. Rooted in a user-centered approach, the design emerged from an interview with an Indian graphic designer and mother of two. Her needs were clear: a space that’s modular, compact, easy to set up and take down, and above all, quiet.

Inspired by traditional Japanese tea houses and their joinery techniques, Cocoon balances simplicity with craft. It creates a soft, secure environment that folds neatly into any corner, offering privacy without permanence. Like the structure’s name suggests, Cocoon is a transitional space—a personal pocket to focus, reflect, and grow.

Interview, Sketches & Mockup

Initial research centered around an in-depth user interview, sketching exercises, and mockup building. This process helped translate emotional and functional needs—like silence, ease, and portability—into tangible design goals.
