TRISHIKHA IYER
Trishikha Iyer is an industrial and product designer currently pursuing a BFA in Product Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Originally from Bangalore, India, her practice is shaped by an interest in the relationships between people, objects, materials, and the environments we inhabit.
Her approach to design is rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and making. Trishikha is interested in how everyday objects can influence human behaviour, create emotional connections, and transform the way people experience the world around them. She views design as both a tool for problem-solving and a medium for asking questions, using research, material exploration, storytelling, and hands-on experimentation to develop her work.
Her practice spans product design, furniture, lighting, play, and speculative design. She enjoys working across both physical and digital processes, with experience
in woodworking, metalworking, ceramics, prototyping, Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, and CAD.
In 2026, Trishikha expanded her design education through a semester abroad at Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Studying and living in Eindhoven exposed her to experimental and conceptual approaches to design, with a particular focus on material exploration and the cultural and social role of objects. This international experience continues to inform her multidisciplinary perspective and approach to design.
Alongside her academic practice, Trishikha has gained experience in circular economy initiatives, manufacturing, and independent creative projects. Her work is informed by a growing interest in sustainability, material culture, human behaviour, play, and the ways design can shape everyday experiences.
Across her projects, Trishikha is particularly drawn to the space between functionality and emotion, creating objects that invite interaction, encourage curiosity, and foster meaningful relationships between people and the things they use. Whether working with lighting, furniture, playful products, or experimental materials, she aims to create work that is tactile, thoughtful, and distinctly human.
Trishikha is currently based in New York City, bringing together perspectives shaped by her roots in Bangalore, her education at Parsons School of Design, and her international experience at Design Academy Eindhoven.
